Aslak Bjørge Hermstad is a composer of electronic and instrumental music. His music often builds upon simple concepts, where beauty might be found in the simplicity, strangeness and absurdity.
Ha started his musical career with an electric guitar and a love for the Clash and Sex Pistols at the age of 14. As a performer he prefers playing romantic music for classical guitar alone.
He holds a bachelor in composition from the Grieg Academy in Bergen, where he studied under Morten Eide Pedersen, Dániel Péter Biró, Sigurd Fischer Olsen, Ruben Sverre Gjertsen, Trond Lossius og Rebecka Ahvenniemi.
In addition to composing he also works actively in organisations. Since 2017 he's worked with transport and logistics for Borealis – a festival for experimental music, while also being active in student organisations.
His other interest include politics, gender, international solidarity, climate change and questions regarding identity.
